Back onto the subject of Mothers who lose weight for the sake of their family. Marie Eaton has been hitting the headlines lately due to losing more than 190 Kilos of weight with the help of changing her diet and a personal trainer. Yes, you read that right, 190 KG ! 31 stone to be exact. Congratulations.
42 year old Marie Eaton, Britain's one time heaviest female, tipped the scales at an incredible 317 kg (50 stone). Now, two years later, she has slimmed down to an incredible 18.5 stone. She still works out regularly and now takes a much more positive approach to her health and to help those around her.
The thing which triggered her addiction to a high calorie diet was the death of her mother which was very difficult for her to cope with. The factor which turned her about was her then fiancée (now husband) Paul who asked her to marry her. This and the thought that she would be unable to be alive for her own children if she carried on the excessive spiral of obesity.
One of the hardest things she did, which a lot of people find quite hard, was to restrict the calories she was consuming. She went from an unknown excess of calories (which would include fizzy drinks and about £40 worth of take-away food all to herself for an evening meal) down to an incredible 800kcals a day.

On this calorie restricted diet she still gets all the nutrients she needs, 3 meals a day and a snack or two. This really does help to highlight the way in which those of us in the 'developed' world are eating far more calories than we need to on a daily basis. Although the calories she is consuming may not be suitable for everyone to follow, it is still less than half the RDA, although most people tend to be consuming more than twice the RDA daily.
She combined the restricted calories with a healthy exercise routine as well. The feature can be seen here.
