Just thought I would use this space to mention something that comes up a lot during sessions. I will deal with this again on another occasion I am sure.
One of my favourite San Tzu quotes is ' Know yourself and you win all battles.'
This is true on so many levels. The one I would like to highlight today though is how we tend to just believe everything we read or get told but rarely actually put them to the test. You need to scrutinise everything if you are to really trust it to be true. Faith is good, and we need to have it until we know for certain, but running on faith only with no signs of truth for too long is foolish.
I know this from the many years of training and teaching people and from my constant never ending journey as a student. I have had my teachers tell me things I would never have believed to be true, and other teachers tell me things I agreed with. When the proof came out in the results though there were times when the things I didn't agree with ended up being the truth and the stuff that I had been taught that I agreed with was useless.
Know yourself, examine yourself, be true to yourself. Not everything works for everyone and you will also change, but knowing the process and what makes you tick makes it a lot easier to keep on track.
