Time can change a lot of things.

While doing my daily studying and restudying of the latest fitness crazes and science I thought it might be good to illustrate how things can change in a relatively short period of time.

The following clips highlight how in the space of less than 80 years a style of training has changed and deviated from it's original form.  You can imagine how much yoga has adapted in over 4000 years.

I am not saying there is anything wrong with either solid traditionalist approaches or more flexible adaptive approaches but I thought it would be interesting to show first modern Pilates (itself using a host of yoga techniques and poses), and then a quick clip of Mr Pilates training some students.  (you don't have to watch both all the way through, but it gives you an idea.  Also, sound is missing from the original Pilates one for obvious reasons.)
Clip one - modern Pilates:

The original one, like the differences? I'll let you decide. :)
