Seb's Christmas Blowout

This is where things might get a little messy.  If you are a puritanical fitness freak then maybe you shouldn't read this post.

I wanted to just say that life is for living and enjoying.  Many people ask me what I will eat over Christmas time.  Well, it's simple, pretty much everything that gets put in front of me.  I am going to savour the spuds, delight in the dessert and munch on mince pies.

I like to be balanced in my life and so try not to limit my options.  I won't necessarily pig out on them though.  Remember I like to enjoy my food and not abuse it.  Even if for a whole week I ended up going slightly over on my calories, I really don't think it's going to have much effect on the rest of my year, or even on the month.

You can still eat all the nice things that everyone else is without the fear of ballooning for one or two days worth of food.  Obesity comes from habits and over-consumption of calories over a long period of time. There is also a type of diet called spiking where you eat extra calories on purpose so that you lose more body fat (I can say more on this another time if you are interested) over a period of time.  Also losing weight does not happen overnight unless you have surgery (and then you still need to workout regularly to keep it from returning)

All I am trying to say is please enjoy this period of time sensibly.  Try not to over-indulge, but if you do, so what...as long as it's only the once or twice a year it's really not a problem.

Stay Healthy!
