Most people who train with me want it all. Great body and a normal life without popping pills and potions and doing crazy regimes seems to be what most people want. Most of my clients have just that, they have not only changed the way their bodies look and feel, but they enjoy pretty much all the good stuff they used to have before starting their training. They have a normal social life and some even think that since they started exercising regularly their social life has improved.
Something that becomes a bit of a mantra though is 'moderation'. You can still enjoy the odd pizza, glass of wine with friends, hot chocolate in front of the telly or even the dreaded desserts. The most important thing is that everything you eat or drink is as natural as possible. Along with your daily protien, fresh fruits and vegetables are a must, but you can also enjoy rice, pasta, potatoes and even bread. The most important thing is that you know when to stop.
If you want to eat pizza, you can make your own, the ones from the shops are normally too big anyway. Using fresh flour to make the base and using the best quality ingredients you can have a delicious treat that's healthier. You can make your own pasta also or at least make sure you buy fresh egg pasta (the one from the chiller not the shelf). As a guide though a 500g bag should be enough for four people at least.
You can still treat yourself to the great British dishes of mash potato, peas and sausages, or steak and chips. Just be careful how much you have and again source everything fresh.
Other tips are to chew your food more slowly, if you are going out with your friends then try to have lower calorie foods, drink more glasses of water in between the glasses of wine. You should also be aware not to change your habits too quickly or your friends and family may not be as supportive as you would like.
You really can eat whatever type of foods you like from time to time without destroying your health. You must limit how much of it you have though. even if you are exercising you can't suddenly eat twice as much (unless you are exercising about 4 hours a day more). As always comment or contact me here for advice.

This is enough breakfast for two people, maybe three. |
