The Samurai says NO!

THOUGHTS

In the Hagakuri it was said that if someone is speaking harshly of the Samurai Code or one's own province, one should speak severely with him without the least bit of a ceremony.

How often do we speak harshly of ourselves or the way we do things?

Harmony can be found through the acceptance of who we are and an acceptance of our position and how we got here. There is always fault to be found, but there are also benefits. This does not mean that we forget the faults, but to be aware of them allows us to be stronger. Keeping that Kaizen attitude of constant improvement. As an example, if you know the brakes on your bicycle aren't working then you just fix them, replace them or ride extremely diligently, you wouldn't last long pelting along at full speed through traffic lights, oncoming vehicles/pedestrians, etc., then constantly be complaining to anyone who will listen about how dangerous riding a bicycle can be.

This may also be true of who and what we are, trying to fix what we perceive as being less useful behaviour, seeing a therapist, talking to friends/family might be some options of many, but complaining to anyone who will listen?

The Samurai were taught not only to not display this kind of behaviour, but also not to cultivate it in others.
...The Samurai says "NO!"
