“Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn't have it in the beginning.”
Mahatma Gandhi
I talk a lot about changing beliefs and changing patterns. To make ourselves change we need to change beliefs and patterns amongst other things. As always, be realistic, I really doubt many people reading this would be able to freeclimb the Empire State building, so a realistic goal is important. A bitesize goal.
People say to me "Where do you see yourself in 10 years", the only thing I can be certain of is either 10 years older or dead. I'm definitely not knocking long-term goal setting but remember to break things down a little bit first. Try to see where you are TODAY then look at the things you would like to do and plan how to reach them.
10 Push-ups might be your max at the moment, but instead of thinking about how to do 1,000 Push-ups aim for 15 first, then 20 and so on. Don't settle for what someone tells you is 'good' create your own limits but follow the rules.
