Power Walking

Power Walking has been shown to delay the onset of Prostate Cancer in a recent study.

The University of California San Fransisco study looked at 1,455 men who were diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The men were all in their 60's and had what is known as 'localised' Prostate Cancer. What this meant was that the cancer had not started to spread before the subjects were studied.

Over the next 31 months, the researchers recorded over 100 different events, from the subjects, that appeared to be caused by the Prostate Cancer.

It was shown that the men who exercised for more than 3 hours a week by brisk walking may have delayed or even prevented the Prostate Cancer from progressing.

It was also noticed that those subjects who would just take a leisurely walk did not manage o get the same benefits.

This study does not show it is a guarantee, as nothing in life is a guarantee, to help those afflicted with prostate cancer, although it does highlight some possible routes for improvement.
