Hi Toney,
Great to hear you have your sport sorted out, from the rest of your email you say you are a wide position fielder but didn't mention anything about your bowling. So the following is some advice for the position of fielding wide and batting. This position needs a lot of ability to sprint due to the area of coverage you tend to keep. You can also work on Squats or Leg press machine (single leg) in the gym, working up to about 50 reps is good and try to complete them quite fast. You can also try to do another days training on higher weight at a lower set of reps for more anaerobic bias. Also regular training of sprinting and walk backs and of course some upperbody workout will also help. You could also book in for some 30min boxing sessions, the hand/eye co-ordination will improve and be a nice break from the regular cricket training drills you are doing. Contact me for more advice on your training or anything else at: seb@kaizenfitness.org.uk
