Your mail wasn't too specific, but I think that if you are trying for some basic balance and leg strength then lunges can be a great way to gain it. I use variations of lunges for most of my clients who have a sporting goal specific to leg strength. It is great for quads and hamstrings, calf muscles and ankle stabalisers. Try to lean forward for a work into the hamstrings and lean back more to work into the quads. Plyometric lunges are my favorite if you already have good leg functionality.
