How can I lose more fat?... I exercise twice a week...from Beth

Beth,
I suspect that there are many things we could go into on this question, I can see from the rest of the email you sent me that you only have 2 days available for training at the moment, that is ok. Even though it is a lot tougher to lose body fat on only a few sessions training a week, it is possible.

Most important is to look at your diet. Even if you managed 5 sessions a week, if your calorific intake is more than you are expending you will find it almost impossible to drop fat. You need a balanced diet of Carbs, Protein and Fats. The percentage each should take up in your diet vary from study to study, but fats have twice as many calories per gram as carbs, and proteins. This should mean you have to keep an eye on how they effect your daily calories, especially if you are doing something like the 'metabolic diet'.

I have found that keeping a food diary is great for helping to see just how much you are eating, and although it can be pretty time consuming to begin with, after a while you get to know how many calories are in your favorite meals, and you can pretty much guess the rest, erring on the side of less calories.
Be careful not to drop your calories too low though as you need a basal amount just to stay alive.
